SMALL businesses across the Myall Lakes electorate can now access free, independent advice through the new Service NSW Business Bureau Small Business Advisory program.
The program provides eligible business owners and people considering starting a business with up to four hours of free one-on-one advice each financial year.
Member for Myall Lakes Tanya Thompson said the practical support comes at an important time for local businesses facing rising costs, workforce pressures and increasingly difficult trading conditions.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our towns and villages, but there is no question they are doing it incredibly tough at the moment,” Mrs Thompson said.
“Operating costs continue to rise, household budgets are under pressure and many business owners are working longer hours just to keep their doors open and their staff employed.
“This program gives business owners an opportunity to speak with an independent advisor who understands those challenges and can provide practical, tailored advice.
Sessions can be held in person, online or over the phone and cover topics including business planning, marketing, finance, staffing, digital skills and artificial intelligence.
Businesses can also access online videos, tools and learning resources at a time that suits them. Workshops, webinars and networking opportunities will be available from mid-September.
“I encourage local business owners and anyone considering taking the leap into business to explore the support available,” Mrs Thompson said.
