TGSC Walking Football

WEDNESDAY playday was a warm one but we were favoured by a nice breeze to cool our players who rotated on and off the field for a rest as they needed.

We, once again, played on the TGSC mid-sized field which will probably become our usual pitch for the winter season which kicks off 2 May when we will able to utilise their larger goals making it easier for our keen sharp shooting players to bag some extra points as our current small goals are requiring all but pinpoint accuracy but it all adds to the fun and excitement with a few goal attempts just missing or falling “oh so close” short.

We played two 15-minute halves followed by a

15 minute follow on session by most players.

Welcome to our newbie Ray, aka Rowdy, who, having never played football before in his 70 plus years and being hindered by limited vision, made some great blocks and passes and is keen to play again next week.

We also had a visit from Marcus, a son of one of our foundation members David, who joined us for a game. The father and son combo in Hi Viz yellow teamed up well showing some flash moves and joined in the spirit that is our Walking Football, helping to make our game lots of fun.

A special mention this week must go to Lorraine who bagged a trifecta this week. On target and well-done Lorraine.

Thanks to Chris for taking care of the laundry this week.

See you all again this Wednesday afternoon.

Anyone who is interested or curious is welcome to come along, have a chat, look-see or give it a try.
