DEAR News Of The Area,
MANY of us delight in the village tone that is Hawks Nest.
The lack of overpowering developments has helped retain our village feel with our “treedness”.
I have a concern that this State Significant Development on Sanderling Avenue, Hawks Nest could be overpowering visually considering the image that is being offered.
Of course some development would be helpful to our all-weather, terrific golf course and that has to be considered.
However a more sympathetic development might easily be more accepted by residents.
We have a very short time in which the community voice might have power, so what should we do?
A public meeting to work it out?
An avalanche of submissions?
Hope that it won’t be too bad?
Submissions close on 14 May.
I remember we were promised a second “community consultation” but that appears to have been passed over.
I do have an issue with the possibility of this large structure being promoted as a state housing development which suggests a contribution to the solution of our housing problem.
Please consider our community contribution.
Regards,
Leigh ALLEN,
Hawks Nest.
