WOOTTON photographer Jo Lyons is inviting dog owners to share their stories through a new portrait project celebrating the powerful connection between people and their canine companions.
Called Who Saved Who?, the studio-based project aims to honour the bond between dogs and the people who love them, particularly rescue animals who have made a lasting impact on their owners’ lives.
Ms Lyons recently announced the project and is now seeking participants to take part before applications close on 30 June.
“It’s a studio-based portrait project honouring the bond between dogs and the people who love them,” Ms Lyons said.
“If you have a dog who’s changed your life, or a rescue dog who found you at exactly the right moment, this could be your story.”
The project follows the success of Tails of Barrington Coast, a book authored and photographed by Ms Lyons that showcased dogs and their owners from across the region.
“I authored and photographed Tails of Barrington Coast a few years back, and this feels like a natural next step – deeper, more personal, just stories and portraits,” she said.
Participants selected for the project will receive professional studio portraits while sharing the personal stories behind their relationships with their dogs.
The project will also support a local cause, with a portion of each participation fee being donated to charity.
“$100 from every participation fee goes to the Stay Foundation, supporting families and their animals,” Ms Lyons said.
Only 15 places are available. Dog owners interested in taking part can find more information and apply through Ms Lyons’ website before applications close on 30 June.
This community-focused project highlights the unique role dogs play in people’s lives while helping raise funds for families and pets in need.
