LAST Wednesday playday was a cracker. We had a great roll up of eager players, with happy faces, full of anticipation raring to get on the pitch and give it their best.
The mid-sized Tea Gardens Soccer Club field once again proved an absolute winner, with so many goal shots and lots of cheers due to increased passing, linking up and team work that seems to be increasing each and every game.
We played two 15-minute halves followed by a 15-minute follow on session by nearly all players, as some needed to rest or head home to look after the grandies and that’s how we do Walking Football here in Tea Gardens.
No commitment.
Come when you can.
Play when you want.
Rest when you need.
There were some standouts this week, one being Rowdy matched Len for tumbles. One each.
Another was we had three generations of one family take to the pitch, thankyou David, his son Marcus and grandson Dylan for playing our game in the true spirit that we have enjoyed since we started, and if that’s not enough to celebrate Dylans’ mum was our designated (volunteered) time keeper and Grandmother Paula was voted “best supporter”.
Thanks to Robyn for taking the laundry home this week.
We have two more Wednesday afternoon games to go, then we switch to Saturday mornings from May 2nd at around 10.30 for a 11am kick off. Stay tuned
See you all again this Wednesday afternoon, new time 4.45 for kick off at 5pm sharp, to get our game in before it gets too dark.
Anyone who is interested or curious is welcome to come along, have a chat, look-see or give it a try.
