TUESDAY 27th May: The Final of the Club Championship Triples and what a thriller of a game this was. Lorraine Murphy, Bev Harrington and Gay Pezet started strongly and had a 7 shot lead by the 8th end, 11 v 4. On the 17th end they were still ahead by 5 points, but believe it or not with just 4 ends left to bowl it was still anyone’s game. On the 18th end Jean Glover, Robyn Webster and Bette Saillard scored 4 points, now they were just losing by 1 point, 16 v 15. They won the next 2 ends heading into the final end with a 2 shot lead, here Bette’s team were holding shot until Gay delivered the last bowl of the game.
