A HUGE roll-up of players, supporters and volunteers attended Memorial Park on Saturday, 20 June, for round 7 of the 2026 Tea Gardens Soccer Club matches.
The day, tagged the ‘Aussie Roofing and Guttering’ round, was attended by Deb and Greg Fitzroy, who shared in the day’s fun and activities..
It was a picture-perfect morning where everyone came together to enjoy themselves and make the day happen.
In the Minis grade, Game 1 saw the Shovel Nose Sharks pip the Port Jackson Sharks 7 goals to 6, with Player of the Match vouchers awarded to Rocky Phillipson and William Hood.
At the completion of Game 2, the Reef Sharks were in front of the Wobbegong Sharks 4 goals to 2, with Player of the Match vouchers going to Maverick McGrath and Bodhi McGrath.
Thanks to Tasha Howard for refereeing both matches.
TGSC President, Jason Keeble, took the whistle for the Midis grade games, the results of which were Bull Sharks 1 v Mako Sharks 5, and Hammerhead Sharks 1 v Bulahdelah Bullets 3.
The coveted Player of the Match vouchers were awarded to Noah Barker and Zach Christodoulou, with proud parents looking on.
On the large pitch, Junior grade games were refereed by Karen, with the Tiger Sharks soundly defeated by the Bronze Whalers 7 goals to 2. Player of the Match vouchers were awarded to River Allen and Thomas Catt.
The Over 50s Walking Football took to the pitch at around 11am after the junior games had finished, with a vibrant roll-up of eager players and supporters keen to make the most of the weather.
The seven-a-side game lasted two 20-minute halves and ended with a close score that was not even mentioned at our usual post-game sit and chit-chat.
Earlier this month, TGSC hosted the ‘Myall Motor Club’ Round 6 of the 2026 draw, with local enthusiasts bringing some of their cherished automobiles for a terrific display that was visited by many of our players and supporters alike.
It was a cracking morning with plenty of sunshine, smiling, eager players and supporters all rocking up, keen to get onto the fields.
The Minis Game 1 ended with the Port Jackson Sharks on 3 and the Reef Sharks on top with 6. Players of the Match were Nancy Murray and Elijah Smith.
Game 2, also refereed by Tasha, was a bit of a runaway, with the Shovel Nose Sharks 0 v Wobbegong Sharks 12. Players of the Match were Quinn Hadfield and Freya Scott. Well done, everyone.
The Midis game results were Mako Sharks 5 v Hammerhead Sharks 3, and in Game 2 the Bulahdelah Bullets defeated the Bull Sharks 4 goals to 1.
In the Juniors grade, Game 1 saw the Tiger Sharks defeat the Bulahdelah Threshers 7 goals to 5, while in Game 2 the Bulahdelah Bullets defeated the Bronze Whaler Sharks 4 goals to 3.
Both games were refereed by Karen and mentored by Kev. Thanks to you both.
After all games were wrapped up, the Over 50s Walking Football players took to the field. We formed two seven-a-side teams and played two 20-minute halves, with a nice break and chilled orange quarters, thanks to AT. The final score eluded the players once again, but nobody seemed too bothered about it anyway, as it’s more about the fun, the exercise and the laughs.
