DEAR News Of The Area,
I AM extremely disappointed with Port Stephens MP Kate Washington and her comment that the Brumby slaughter is a ‘massive win’ for the environment.
It has come to light that there are less than 100 brumbies in Kosciuszko National Park. The inhumane way they have been disposed of is deplorable – leaving horses to die painfully and foals separated from their mothers to die alone.
It has become apparent that pigs and deer do more damage because of their numbers.
Regards,
Margarete Lethorn,
Pindimar.
