French Classes enjoy continental Christmas luncheon

CHRISTMAS came early for the students and guests of the French language classes led by Georges Nadal, celebrated at Tea Gardens’ Tillermans Restaurant on Sunday 7 December.

Over 30 Francophiles filed into the riverside restaurant for a celebration that began with a rousing delivery of ‘La Marseillaise’, followed by a few words from professeur Georges himself.

Special thanks were delivered to Georges by fellow teacher Ray Keipert, who expressed the group’s appreciation for a years’ worth of efforts.

“The students were able to appreciate varied and challenging approaches to learning Français throughout 2025, and thoroughly enjoyed the stimulating learning experiences our teachers carefully planned and presented for our weekly lessons,” student Sherrie O’Keefe told NOTA.

Guests enjoyed a locally-crafted three course menu curated by the Tillerman’s team.

The entrée was a chilled cucumber and dill soup with smoked salmon; the main was a slow-cooked lamb with baba ghanoush, fresh herbs and pomegranate; and the dessert was a roasted fresh peach with buttermilk pannacotta and almond crumb.
