SKIES above Taree are set to roar back to life this November as the spectacular Barrington Coast Airshow returns, promising breathtaking aerial displays, family entertainment and a major boost for the MidCoast economy.
MidCoast Council has once again partnered with Paul Bennet Airshows to bring the world-class event back to Taree Regional Airport on Saturday, 7 November, following the success of the 2024 show.
More than 6,000 visitors are expected to descend on the region for the one-day event, with the airshow forecast to inject more than $2 million into the local economy through accommodation, dining, shopping and tourism.
Headlining the event is internationally acclaimed airshow pilot Paul Bennet, the current Australian Unlimited Freestyle Champion, who will lead an action-packed program of aerobatic displays, historic warbird flyovers and precision flying demonstrations.
Visitors can also enjoy a full day of on-ground entertainment, including aviation exhibits, amusement rides, food vendors and activities designed to appeal to all ages.
MidCoast Mayor Claire Pontin said the airshow had quickly established itself as one of the region’s premier events.
“The Barrington Coast Airshow has quickly become one of our region’s signature events and Council is proud to support it,” Cr Pontin said.
Council has provided a sponsorship package for the event and has worked closely with organisers to help deliver another unforgettable experience for aviation enthusiasts and families alike.
“With more than 6,000 visitors expected to visit the Barrington Coast for the one-day event, we anticipate it will provide over $2 million in economic impact for our local businesses and be a great way to connect our local communities,” Cr Pontin said.
The Barrington Coast Airshow has secured long-term support through MidCoast Council’s Grants, Donations and Sponsorship Program and will be held every two years until at least 2030.
“By providing long-term certainty, we’re giving organisers the confidence to grow these events and helping local businesses prepare for more visitors. More visitors means more people staying, dining, shopping and exploring everything the MidCoast has to offer.”
