JUST 4 ladies braved the uncertain weather on Wednesday 13th May for the 4th NSW Medal Round and the winner was Meredyth Rae with 74nett from Lou Smith with 77nett. No NTPs or jackpot.
No golf for the Vets on Thursday 14th May – too wet.
Saturday 16th May was the Men’s Foursomes Championships and this year’s A grade champions are Toby Carroll & Marty Bramble with 122gr from Nigel Malone & Max Schlenert with 225gr. A grade nett winners were Daryl Harvey & Kevin Martin with 111.25nett from Geoff Matheson & Wayne Thomson with 112nett. B grade champions are Ryan McSweeny & Joel Slack with 147gr from Al Jobson & Darren Carrall after a 4 hole, very exciting sudden death playoff! B grade nett winners were Rodney King & Charlie Matheson with 114nett from Garry Willadsen & Jeff Crockett with 116.5nett. NTPs were Wayne Pollard, Ryan McSweeny and Charlie Matheson. Long drivers were Michael Styles, Stewart McNaughton and Glenn Grainger. A Medley Stableford was also played on Saturday and the winner with 37pts was Murray Sharp from Barbie Gordon with 32pts.
The Mixed Foursomes Championship was played on Sunday 17th May, and while the sun shone, the course was very heavy going for the 8 pairs who contested the event. The champions this year are Barbie Gordon & Geoff Harvey with 128gr, 6 shots ahead of their nearest rivals. The nett winners were Meg South and Rod Norberry with 108.25nett. A great weekend of golf; congratulations to all the winners and to the losers, there’s always next year.
