THE ladies played their 27 hole Foursomes Championship on Wednesday 29th April. It was a close battle but in the end, Bernie Newton and Lou Smith were the victors with 134gross, just 3 strokes ahead of Barbie Gordon and Terry Stellema, who won the nett with 103.25 – only ½ a stroke ahead of Meg South and Meredyth Rae.
The vets played a stableford on Thursday 30th April and the winner was Ron MacDaniel with 38pts on a c/b from Rick Winter. Al Jobson was 3rd with 36pts. NTPs were Rod Norberry (x2), Mick Welsh and Wayne Pollard. Monthly Mug is next week and starting time is 9 – 9:30 for the next 4 cooler months.
Saturday 2nd May was a stroke event and the A grade winner was Toby Carroll with 70nett from Geoff Harvey with 74nett. Paul Reid won the B grade with 69nett from Joel Slack with 70nett. Alison Benson was the ladies’ winner with 70nett from Steph Plackson with 72nett. NTPs were Toby Carroll, Luke Barry, Bernie Newton and Meredyth Rae. Long drivers were Toby Carroll, Ryan McSweeny, Glenn Grainger and Bernie Newton. Brad Gleeson won the $36 jackpot with a great shot onto the 17th (only 1.3 from the pin) but sadly missed the birdie putt. That’s golf!
