BULAHDELAH Golf Club players have enjoyed an immaculate course in recent weeks and more run than has been experienced in many months, making for some fantastic gross and nett scores.

The third round of the Ladies’ Championship was played on Wednesday 16 September and the daily winner was Alison Benson, with 71nett, from Lou Smith, with 72nett.

Lou grabbed an eagle on the 10th and also the Club Championship with 265gr.

Terry Stellema is the B grade Champion with 322gr and Alison Benson is the overall nett winner with 213nett.

On 23 September a Stableford was contested and the winner was Meredyth Rae with 43pts from returning golfer Jenny Kars with 36 pts on a c/b from Meg and Barbie.

Lou got the 8th NTP while Barbie grabbed the Jackpot ($18).

On Thursday, 17 September, a stableford was held for the Vets and visitor Stephen Davidson was the best on the day with 45pts.

Michael Donnelly was 2nd with 42pts from John Stellema with 38pts.

NTPs were Damian Bishop, Donny and Rick Winter. Kevin Styles won the jackpot.

Long drivers were Donny, Damian and Bob.

The Vets’ Open Day was on Thursday 24 September, and 72 players came from far and wide for the event.

A-grade winner was local Ray Mansell with 36pts on a c/b from Wayne Pollard.

B grade winner was Bob Seiker from Wingham with 37pts from Ron McDaniel with 36pts.

C grade winners were Max Donnelly with 44pts, Andrew Berry with 42pts, Bob Black with 41pts.

NTPs were Ray Mansell, Ron McDaniel, Fern Berry, Paul Coote and S.Haines.

Jim Greenham won the accurate drive – on the line!

Long drivers were Marty Bramble, Barry Jones and Paul Reid.

The men’s Championship has been played over the past four weeks. On Saturday 19 September the daily winners were: A grade – Ray Mansell with 68nett from Brad Schlenert with 69nett. B grade winners were Ryan McSweeny with 69nett on a c/b from Stewart McNaughton. C grade winner was Steve South with an incredible 61nett from Steve Fitzgerald with and excellent 66nett.

It was a day for the South family, with Meg winning the ladies’ stableford with 37pts from Alison Benson with 35pts. NTPs were Arrin Gardiner, Dave Kerr, Dave Flynn, Alan Crick and Kevin Styles while the long drivers were Geoff Harvey, Gavin Dalla-Lana, Paul Reid and Barbie Gordon. Steve South topped off a great day by winning the jackpot.

Saturday 26 September was a big day for the Club.

The Men’s Championship concluded and there were some surprise winners and very close scores.

Daily winners were Max Schlenert (65n) from Brad Schlenert (67n) in A grade.

Gerard Walsh won B grade with 70n from Paul Cheers with 71n. Carl Morice was the best in C grade with 68n from Bob Denelzen with 70n. Max also won September’s Monthly Mug. The ladies’ Mug winner was Alison Benson with 72n from Terry Stellema with 75n.

Brad Gleeson won the 17th Jackpot with a great shot in and a birdie. NTPs and long drivers were Toby, Gavin, Al, Max, Zac, John, Lou, Alan, Brad and Peter.

The 2026 Club Champion is Max Schlenert, who came from behind, shooting 72 on the last day with a total of 321gr. Ray Mansell was R/up with 323. B grade champion is Gerard Walsh with 353gr from Gavin Dalla-Lana with 354gr. C grade champion is Al Jobson with 386gr from Darren Carrall with 373gr.

A grade Nett winners were Brad Schlenert with 289n from Craig Littlechild with 292n.

B grade Nett winners were Paul Cheers with 285n from Stewart McNaughton with 293n (c/b from Ken Hughes).

C grade nett winners were Joel slack with 285n from Matt Moss with 292 (c/b from John Stellema).

The Rick Moore overall best nett went to Joel Slack on a c/b from Paul Cheers.

A wonderful event – congratulations to all the winners, and to the not-winners – “It’s only a game!”
