Event showcases the many faces of Stroud Lions

THE Lions Club of Stroud held a community information event in Allen Park on Sunday 17 May.

Residents were treated to a free morning tea and BBQ lunch and were invited to have their say on two proposed projects: the installation of outdoor exercise equipment in a local park and a new walking trail.

The event showcased the Australian Lions Foundation, Lions Membership, Lions Youth, Australian Child Mobility and  the Lions Club International Foundation.

Locals also discovered how the organisation supports diabetes awareness initiatives, eye screening, paediatric cancer support, children’s mobility, and young leadership programs in schools.

Organisers said many members of the Stroud community were unaware how much work the volunteer service organisation did beyond its Bunnings barbecues and Christmas cake stalls.

The Lions Club of Gloucester provided assistance and support on the day.
