Hawks Nest Ladies Golf

LAST Saturday was a picture perfect day out on the golf course, with 27 ladies playing in a high scoring 18 hole Stableford round. Visitor Nadine Lennox smashed it, finishing with an amazing 46 points, well clear of Evelyn Potts 38 and Jo Scott 37 – great scores, ladies!

The 2026 Ladies’ Championships got under way last week, with Round 1 played on Tuesday. Unfortunately the weather made the game more a test of endurance – the wild winds took no prisoners! Nonetheless, 38 ladies teed off in the 18 hole stroke round after course staff and volunteers cleared quite a bit of debris from the fairways. Unusually, no one managed to reach the green for Nearest The Pin on the windy hole 10. However, chips ins came from Karen Serhan on the 2^nd, with a confident chip from 10 metres out, Jo Buttrey for par on the 1^st, Liz Edmonds (2^nd) and Maxine Mitchell (4^th) – well played, ladies.

There were 44 starters at Thursday Lady Vets, including Suzi Wood recently moving from Sydney to the mid north coast. Kaye Webb scored a chip in on the 10^th to add to the celebrations for her special birthday. Lorraine Bragg was also having a significant birthday last week, so congratulations to you both. Other chip ins came from Pauline Barham, 10m out on the  4^th, and Sue Forde on the 5^th – well played, ladies.
