GAME day last Saturday was an absolute cracker! A bit of a brisk start but when the sunshine settled in the day warmed to what was a perfect winters celebration of soccer and community.
All Lavender Management round 10 games kicked off at 9am sharp thanks to our field set up crew, the early birds Pete, Todd and Jason.
Our minis grade games, refereed by George and Tasha the Wobbegong Sharks 3 popped 3 goals in to the Reef Sharks 0 with “players of the match” awards going to Benji Evans and Maverick McGrath.
Game 2 saw the Shovel Nose Sharks go down to the Port Jackson Sharks 3 goals to 5 in yet another crowd-pleasing encounter. Players of the match awards bestowed upon Violet Menzie and Lennox Cox.
Our Midis grade games results were the Hammerhead Sharks 0 v
Bulahdelah Bullets 6 and the Bull Sharks 0 v Mako Sharks 6 with many a parent, grandparent and supporter cheering them all on.
The Junior grade players are our most experienced players and really showed their stuff in front of an appreciative crowd of supporters, coaches and siblings. These games refereed by Karen (Gossy).
Match 1 resulted in the Tiger Sharks behind in the score count 3 goals to 7 against the Bronze Whaler Sharks.

With all of our grade games done and dusted, it was time for the Walking Football players to get onto the pitch, and that they did with gusto. Our game consisted of two seven-a-side teams playing 20-minute halves with nicely chilled orange slices and welcomed cold water at the ready or the (long-ish) halftime break. The music belted out across the oval to keep everyone bopping along and as usual the post-game cuppa’n’chat went down well with good connection, laughter and conversation going on for an hour at least.
