Hawks Nest Ladies Golf

A GREAT field of 35 ladies teed off in last Saturday’s round, including visitors from Royal Hobart, Gosford, Nelson Bay and Merewether Golf Clubs. On a cold winter morning the westerly wind kept the temperature down, but the golf from overall winner, Marcia Smith was hot! She played beautifully to finish with 40 points, 3 shots clear of the field for an impressive win. Angela Clipperton also shone, with birdies on the 10^th and the 17^th holes – well played, ladies!

The beautiful sunny conditions brought out all the ladies on Tuesday, with 37 players in the 18 hole event,  and 7 in the 9 hole vets. The long game was a Monthly Medal stroke round, with A Grade and C Grade players cramming the top of the leaderboard. Denise Sainty, Jo Buttrey and Sue Fordy all finished on 74 in the tussle for the overall win. Di Rumble Dickson had 2 chip ins today, both from over 10 metres out on the 6^th and the 13^th holes. Sue Campton chipped in on the 13^th,  Maxine Mitchell on the 18^th   while Bec Lewis scored 2 NTPs – great golf, ladies!

There was a happy band of Lady Vets who played the 9 hole event on Tuesday, before adjourning to the clubhouse for a get together over morning tea.

Unfortunately the wet weather prevented the Thursday Lady Vets game from going ahead.
