Want to win cash? Share the scenes and sounds of farming

THE annual photo and video competition honouring National Agriculture Day has opened with a fresh format.

The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) president Hamish McIntyre said the popular annual competition would look slightly different this year.

“We’ve decided to bring in a ‘People’s Choice’ award for 2026, as well as having a dedicated video category,” McIntyre said.

“Ag Day is about loudly celebrating our farmers, and what better way to do that than with a people’s choice category.

“Our farmers work incredibly hard, but it’s work that’s largely done out of the public eye.

“The theme of this year’s Ag Day is ‘Our Farmers, Our Future’, but photo and video entries can speak to any element of rural life.

“We encourage everyone to submit their images, and then keep an eye on the NFF social media pages, from Saturday, 21 October onwards, to vote for their favourite snap.”

2026 National Ag Day Photo and Video Competition Categories and Prize Money:

– First-place photo will receive $2000

– First-place video $1000

– Three (3x) runners-up photos $500

– People’s Choice photo $500.

Entries are now open and will close at 5pm AEDT on National Agriculture Day, Friday, 20 November 2026.

McIntryre thanked Syngenta for providing the $5000 in prize money.

“Last year, we were overwhelmed with more than 650 submissions,” he said.

“We hope to go even bigger and better this year.”

Entries can be made via the Ag Day website at www.agday.org.au/photography-video-competition along with terms and conditions.
