Tuesday 8 September: Format for bowls 2 games, 3 bowls Pairs and a game of Triples all 18 ends.

Judy McGavock and Pat Baker led from start to finish defeating Brenda Law and Lorraine Murphy 24 v 10.

Susan Burns and Jean Glover on the 15th end held the lead by 9 shots (16 v 7) but Precy Swaddling and Lynda Richards won the last 3 ends, added 7 points to their score ultimately just losing by 2 shots, 16 v 14.

The Triples was a close contest for the first 10 ends, the score here 9 all unfortunately Dot Dallas, Irene Roberts and Dawn Jones didn’t add to their tally from here on.

Gaylene Heron (visitor), Deb Gardner and Dale Winter winning 15 v 9.

Winners on the day winning with the lowest margin were Susan and Jean.

Wednesday 9th September:

There were 43 bowlers today, Geoff Muggleton, Tony Butler and Dennis Ashbridge were the overall winners with a total of 34.

The morning winners determined by the highest winning score of 27 were Mark Hair, Col Amos and Craig Mac Donald.

Kev Barbie, Barry Goode and Ian Baker were the afternoon winners, with the lowest winning score of 14.

Friday 11th September: Mixed bowls, Karen Vollmer and Garry MacDonald were victorious defeating Mark Peters and Paul Jackson 27 v 11.

Saturday 12th September:  Our annual event,  Kneelers v Grippers Trophy Day combined with a fund-raising day for the “A Start to Life” organisation.

This charity provides financial assistance and educational support to young Australians experiencing financial disadvantage.

Students from the ages of 4 to 24 are supported in NSW and ACT from their first year at school through to the completion of university or TAFE study, at present 4 students in our local area are being funded.

I am pleased to announce $4500.00 was raised by members/visitors by playing a game of bowls, raffles, auctions and personal donations.

Many thanks to Tea Gardens Country Club for donating $500, TGCCBC $300 and Tea Gardens Fishing club $200 and to all who donated prizes for the raffles and auction plus all who contributed to making this day such a great success.

Winners of the bowls were Dave Perry, David Garcia and Toni Poldman. The Runners Up were Phil Thrift, Mark Nightingale and Nikki Peters.

Sunday 13th September: There was a good turn up of Sunday bowlers, good to see many new bowlers present.

Rink 9 were the lucky winners – Lon Richards, Lynda Richards and Bev Dunn.

Rink 10 received Frank’s award Rick Islaub, Sharon George and John Mannix.

All are welcome to Sunday bowls just need to put your name down on the sheet in the bowls area of TGCC or be at TGCC by 0915 Sunday morning.
