LAST Saturday was “one out of the box” weather-wise, and the soccer games played were nothing short of stunning.
The young players have all come ahead in leaps and bounds from where they started earlier in the season, with all grades showing skill and sportsmanship that are a pleasure to see.
The Suds Laundry / Mema’s Bakery Round 14 of the local draw saw the Minis Grade Game One, the Reef Sharks, draw 2-all with the Shovel Nose Sharks, while Game Two saw the Wobbegong Sharks come up against the Port Jackson Sharks, with this match also ending in a draw, 4-all.
Player of the Match vouchers were awarded to Harry McCosker, Rocky Phillipson, Ethan Modistach and Benji Evans, with the players applauded by a large gallery of parents, grandparents and friends.
Game One in the Midi Grade saw the Hammerhead Sharks just get pipped at the post by the Bull Sharks, 0-1, before the Mako Sharks went down to the Bulahdelah Bullets by the same score.
Well-deserved Player of the Match vouchers were awarded to Zach Christodoulou and Hugo Barker.
In a quiet display of sportsmanship and friendship, Hugo passed his award on to Tommy Howard.
Such is the spirit of the club and its players.
The Juniors Grade games saw the Thresher Sharks score four goals to the Bronze Whalers’ five, while in Game Two, the Tiger Sharks couldn’t catch the Bulahdelah Bullets, going down 6-2.
Player of the Match vouchers were awarded to Muhammad Alvaro and Brooklyn Mobs.
Well done to everyone involved.
Alissa and Todd were away in Taree this week with a team of Under 7 players at a tournament hosted by the Taree Football Clubs’ “WildCats”.
The combined Bulahdelah/Tea Gardens Under 7s team absolutely smashed it, ending the day undefeated across all four games.
The team finished the day undefeated, winning Game One 2-0, Game Two 11-0, Game Three 6-1 and Game Four 7-0.
After the day, Alissa said, “Wow, they were amazing!”
Well done and congratulations to the victorious Under 7s.
Last but not least, the Walking Football players took to the field.
A vocal gallery of onlookers witnessed yet another fun game, with lots of laughs, clapping and cheering.
There were even some goals scored; however, nobody thought to keep count – once again.
Thanks to Donna and Robyn for their “homemade secret recipe” lamingtons and carrot cake, which helped make the regular sit’n’chat cuppa after the game even more enjoyable than usual.
Only one more round remains before the Grand Final fun and presentation day on 12 September.
The last hurrah for 2026 is the “Town of Origin Community Charity Fundraiser Day”, set down for 19 September.
Everyone is invited to the grounds at 9am this Saturday for another fun day!
