MYALL Park Croquet Club (MPCC) celebrated a milestone on Wednesday 25th March with one of our senior players, Gordon Ingate OAM who will have his 100th birthday on Sunday 29th March.
Gordon lives in Sydney but owns property in the Tea Gardens area and has been a member of MPCC for six years. Gordon travels from Sydney to play croquet with MPCC on Wednesdays and is also a valued player at his home club at Mosman.
Renowned not only for his skill with a mallet, Gordon is Australia’s oldest yachting champion and our oldest living Olympian. Gordon competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics sailing in the Tempest class keelboat. He has competed in many Sydney to Hobarts and was a challenger for the America’s Cup in 1977.
MPCC was very pleased to be able to celebrate with Gordon on Wednesday.
